Colusa County

Colusa County is a county located in the North Central Valley, North of Sacramento. The county covers an area of 1,156 square miles and has a population of approximately 21,000 people. Colusa County was officially created in 1850 as one of the original counties of California, on land obtained via 3 separate land grants from Mexico in the 1840's. The county was named after a Native American village in the area belonging to the Wintun tribe.

Colusa County is known for its agricultural economy and is home to a number of important landmarks such as the Colusa National Wildlife Refuge and the Colusa-Sacramento River State Recreation Area, which offers recreational opportunities such as boating, fishing, and hiking.

The local economy of Colusa County is largely based on agriculture, with a number of crops grown in the region, including rice, almonds, and tomatoes.

Cannabis cultivation and manufacturing is legal in Colusa county, however retail sales and delivery is strictly forbidden. Currently the county has only a small amount of cultivation.
