Metrc integration
Optionally connect Metrc to import supported compliance records into Higher Origins inventory and transfer workflows.
Overview
The integration starts with the Metrc user API key and facility access saved in Business Settings. Higher Origins can synchronize supported facilities, items, packages, lab data, and transfers into the selected business so teams can review those source records beside products, batches, labels, orders, and transfer workflows.
Metrc remains the source for state track-and-trace records. Higher Origins provides an operational view of synchronized data and its relationship to sales work; connecting the integration is optional and does not remove the licensee's responsibility to verify and report information in the required system.

California licensees can use the DCC CannaConnect compliance hub for current state track-and-trace guidance.
Authorized users configure the connection under Business Settings. The saved Metrc user key controls which facilities and records the integration can read.
What the integration imports
Facilities available to the connected Metrc user.
Items, packages, quantities, states, source labels, package details, and package wholesale prices returned by supported endpoints.
Lab results, lab test types, and lab test states for supported packages.
Inbound, outbound, and rejected transfers, including supported delivery, transporter, and package details.
Connect and synchronize
Save the Metrc user API key in Business Settings, then import each facility that belongs to the selected Higher Origins business.
Importing a facility queues item and package backfill work. Schedule Full Import can request supported history for up to two years.
Use Sync Transfers when transfer records are needed. Transfer synchronization is separate from item and package work.
Higher Origins schedules current item, package, lab, and transfer synchronization each hour. A queued request is not proof that processing has completed.
Confirm a successful import
Open Inventory and choose Sync Status. A completed resource shows a recent Last Sync time and ok status; a failed resource shows error and Last Error text.
Search Inventory for a known complete package tag and compare its facility, quantity, unit, state, source label, and available lab data with Metrc.
Open Transfers and compare a known transfer only after transfer synchronization has completed.
Data ownership and boundaries
Metrc remains the source for state track-and-trace records. Correct Metrc-owned facilities, items, package quantities and states, source labels, transfers, and lab results in Metrc, then synchronize again. Maintain product identity, variants, menu inclusion, pricing, buyer orders, and product-to-inventory links in Higher Origins.
The current Higher Origins integration reads supported Metrc data. It does not provide a supported writeback workflow to Metrc.
Common problems
If no facilities appear, confirm the selected Higher Origins business and the facilities available to the Metrc user who owns the saved key.
If a package is absent, confirm the correct facility was imported, review Inventory > Sync Status, wait for queued work, and search by the complete package tag.
If historical records are missing, confirm that Schedule Full Import was requested and that the record falls within the supported two-year backfill window.
If a synchronized value is wrong, correct it in Metrc and run or wait for the applicable sync instead of editing a value that the next import can replace.
